Have the guitar in your trunk if you’re elsewhere and in your house when you’re home. Then if you’re somewhere else… after you’ve been talking to a girl for a while… casually (when the conversation allows) admit your in a band. Then DO NOT apologize for the band… “We’re just starting out…”, “We’re not very good”, “I’m new to the band”, “We haven’t played any gigs yet”…
Just talk passionately about the music…
And if she asks for more info…tell her, “I don’t know you that well yet…”
What does that mean? It means “back off”… which will create tension. If you’ve read over my site you know what you can do with a small amount of increased tension! Get the guitar and sit down… not in a chair if you can help it… on the porch is best but not right on the floor (it’s psychological, silly!) and just slowly strum a few chords or a simple song… they won’t know your skill level… and won’t care. If you can sing…sing very low… soft and just a 30 seconds to a minute….then stop.
Take a pause… she will probably give you some kind of compliment… responds by saying, “Slow down… I just met you… you can’t fall for me without my permission, silly girl…” Smile and let her laugh.
