The Zodiac Sign Chinese (also known as Sheng xiao - memorize that - if you know that and she doesn't - you're an expert! - Attraction Secret!) - is actually nothing like Western Zodiac because it has nothing to do with constellations. But we won't let that stop us! The way we link them is... they both use 12 signs... so compatibility is very easy to suggest..
The Zodiac Chinese Year doesn't use constellations rather it uses the year of your birth to determine your Sign - Chinese. There are a number of systems that revolve around Zodiac Chinese symbols but the Animal Signs - Chinese are part of the most popular Sheng xiao system and is easiest to learn.
It also, more importantly, works best with Western Zodiac... so use this one.

When making the transition from Western Zodiac to the Zodiac Sign - Chinese remember it's easy if you just casually ask her if she knows her Sign in Chinese Zodiac. Explain that Western astrology is interesting but that the Chinese invented this system. Tell her your Grandmother had/has way more faith in the Chinese system... she said it touched something spiritual - then shrug your shoulders like "whatever" and wait for her to ask a qustion.
Then tell her Zodiac Chinese compatibility relies first on how a person lives up to their Zodiac Chinese symbols and their characteristics. Using the 12 animals determined by year system is what you're going to do... but know that each Sign Chinese is really only the beginning of a super complicated system that you just don't need to know. All you need to know are those 12 animals above... There are also animal signs - Chinese assigned by month (called inner animals), day, and the hour of the day (called secret animals). I just make the inner and secret animal up based on how she responds to Western Zodiac and how she is responding to her Zodiac Sign - Chinese.
A person might appear to be a dragon because they were born in the Zodiac Chinese Year of the dragon, they might also be a snake internally and an ox secretively. In total, this makes for 8,640 possible combinations (five elements x 12 animals in the 60 year cycle (12 x 5 = 60) , 12 months, 12 times of day) that a person might be. Sure if you believe then it'll take a lot of learning to figure out your Zodiac Chinese compatibility - but if you understand how to flirt, create attraction and then date and seduce a woman... it's knowledge you just don't need.
